How Schedchie handles Listmonk
- Your instance, your subscribers
- Schedchie talks to the listmonk you run, over HTTPS, with an API user’s token. Your lists, SMTP and templates stay where they are.
- One connection per instance
- Each listmonk instance is its own account in Schedchie. The lists are picked per post, from the lists that API user can read.
- Started once, never twice
- Schedchie records the campaign on the post before it starts it. A retry finds that campaign and checks its status, so a list is never mailed twice.
- Started at your time
- The campaign is created and started when the post is due. Nothing waits in listmonk as a scheduled campaign in the meantime.
- A send that fails is reported
- If listmonk could send none of the emails (SMTP not set up) or paused the campaign, the post says so. Schedchie never resumes a paused campaign for you.
- Problems named at connect
- A wrong token, an address that is not listmonk, or a role missing a permission Schedchie needs is reported when you connect, with the permission named.
- Template and sender are yours
- Campaigns use your instance’s default template and From address.

Listmonk questions
Which listmonk do I need?
listmonk 4 or later, served over HTTPS, with an API user. Create one in listmonk under Users (type API) and enter its username, its token and your listmonk address in Schedchie.
Which permissions does the API user need?
campaigns:manage, campaigns:get and campaigns:send, and access to the lists it sends to. Add media:manage if your campaigns carry images. Schedchie checks the three campaign permissions when you connect and names any that are missing; without media:manage, a campaign with images is refused at publish and nothing is sent.
Can a campaign go out twice?
No. Schedchie records the campaign before starting it, and a retry checks that campaign’s status in listmonk instead of creating a new one.
What happens if my SMTP is not set up?
listmonk runs the campaign but sends nothing. Schedchie sees that and marks the post as failed, naming the SMTP settings.
Can I pick the template or the From address?
No. Campaigns use your instance’s default template and From address.
Does it work with a hosted email service instead of listmonk?
No. This connection is for listmonk, which you run yourself.
How many instances can I connect?
Each instance is one connection. Pro (€9.99 a month) covers up to 15, Ultra (€24.99 a month) unlimited (fair use: 50 on any one platform, raised free on request), with no per-subscriber fees from Schedchie.
Does it show opens or clicks?
No. Schedchie starts the campaign and reports whether it sent; open and click stats stay in listmonk.
Can I schedule Listmonk with my other platforms in one place?
Yes.
