Setting up Junie CLI
Add one entry to mcp.json, run /mcp and choose Authorize. Junie can then schedule the announcement for what it just built.

Connection details
Same MCP server, permission groups and approvals as the Schedchie web app.
- Config
- ~/.junie/mcp/mcp.json (user) or .junie/mcp/mcp.json at the project root. Flags --mcp-location <path> and --mcp-default-locations pick other files.
- Sign-in
- The /mcp screen shows Authorization required. Authorize runs the sign-in; then check the status reads Active.
- Other actions
- Reconnect, Enable and Disable on the same screen. Ctrl+A browses pre-configured servers.
- Not AI Assistant
- Junie CLI is a separate product from the AI Assistant inside JetBrains IDEs, which has its own page.
- Only what you tick
- Connect Junie CLI to Schedchie. Your assistant gets up to 88 tools across 20 platforms, and only the permission groups you tick at sign-in.
- Video from your phone
- Your assistant can hand you an upload link for a video up to 200 MB and 15 minutes, then set your own cover on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
- Approvals that hold
- On Ultra, a teammate's posts wait for your approval, and your assistant can list, approve or reject them from the chat. MCP is included in the €9.99 plan, with no per-account fees.
More about Schedchie in Junie CLI
Where does Junie CLI read MCP servers from?
~/.junie/mcp/mcp.json and .junie/mcp/mcp.json at the project root. --mcp-location points it at another file.
How does Junie CLI differ from JetBrains AI Assistant?
Junie CLI runs in your terminal and signs in with Authorize in /mcp. AI Assistant is the assistant inside the IDE, with its own page: /ai/jetbrains-ai-assistant.
Is the MCP connection billed on top of the plan?
No. It is included on every plan and in the 14-day free trial. Pro is €9.99 a month, flat. Posting to X is paid in X credits, as in the web app.
Are there limits?
Each connection can make up to 120 tool calls a minute. On Pro it gets 300 tool calls an hour, plus 30 session opens that make no call; on Ultra four times that, 1,200 calls and 120 opens.
Can I schedule posts to all 20 platforms from Junie CLI?
Yes: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Google Business Profile, Discord, Slack, WordPress, Dev.to, Hashnode, Ghost, Pixelfed, Listmonk and X (posting to X is paid in X credits, from €4.99). The connection has up to 88 tools, and approval rules hold as in the web app.
