Schedchie in GitHub Copilot CLITerminal

GitHub Copilot CLI writes the posts. Schedchie publishes them.

GitHub Copilot CLI connects to Schedchie’s MCP server at mcp.schedchie.com/mcp and gets up to 88 tools for the accounts in your workspace. Schedchie is a flat-price social media scheduler for 20 platforms: Pro is €9.99 a month, with MCP included.

  • copilot mcp add --transport http schedchie with our URL registers the server.
  • Sign in with /mcp auth schedchie. No header or token in mcp-config.json.
  • On a Copilot organization, an admin’s MCP allowlist decides which servers may run.

Setting up GitHub Copilot CLI

copilot mcp add registers the server and /mcp auth schedchie signs you in. Copilot can then post the release notes it just wrote.

Requirements

Plans
Copilot CLI needs an active GitHub Copilot subscription; on an organization or enterprise plan an admin can turn it off.
Organizations
An MCP allowlist policy decides which servers may run, so an administrator may need to allow Schedchie first.
  1. GitHub Copilot CLICommand

    Add the server

It writes ~/.copilot/mcp-config.json. No header: the sign-in supplies the token.

    Command
copilot mcp add --transport http schedchie https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp
  2. GitHub Copilot CLIAdd

Or use the form in copilot

    1. /mcp add
    2. Server Name
    3. Server Type
    4. HTTP
    5. URL
    6. Tools

Enter /mcp add, name it schedchie, pick HTTP as the server type and paste the URL. Leave HTTP Headers empty and Tools at *, then press Ctrl+S.

    Server URL
    https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp
  3. GitHub Copilot CLIPrompt

    Check it, then call list_accounts

/mcp show schedchie lists its tools. Then ask Copilot for your connected Schedchie accounts.

    Command
    /mcp show schedchie

Three prompts for GitHub Copilot CLI, with the tools they call

  • Write release notes for the last merged PR, then a LinkedIn post and a Bluesky post from them, and schedule both for tomorrow at 9:00.

    list_accounts, schedule_posts
  • What is scheduled for next week, and did anything fail since Monday?

    list_posts
  • Which posts are waiting for my approval? Approve the LinkedIn one.

    list_pending_approvals, approve_post (Ultra)

Connection details

Same MCP server, permission groups and approvals as the Schedchie web app.

Config
~/.copilot/mcp-config.json, under mcpServers.schedchie: type http, url, tools ["*"].
Add form
/mcp add asks for Server Name, Server Type (HTTP), URL, HTTP Headers and Tools. Leave HTTP Headers empty and save with Ctrl+S.
Sign-in
/mcp auth schedchie runs the OAuth sign-in in your browser. Copilot CLI registers itself with Schedchie (dynamic client registration is the default) and refreshes the token on its own.
Only what you tick
Connect GitHub Copilot CLI to Schedchie. Your assistant gets up to 88 tools across 20 platforms, and only the permission groups you tick at sign-in.
Video from your phone
Your assistant can hand you an upload link for a video up to 200 MB and 15 minutes, then set your own cover on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
Approvals that hold
On Ultra, a teammate's posts wait for your approval, and your assistant can list, approve or reject them from the chat. MCP is included in the €9.99 plan, with no per-account fees.

More about Schedchie in GitHub Copilot CLI

What is the copilot mcp add line for Schedchie?

copilot mcp add --transport http schedchie https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp. Then start copilot and sign in with /mcp auth schedchie.

Do I put a token in --header?

No. Copilot CLI signs in to Schedchie with OAuth. --header is for servers that only take a static key.

Can I sign in over SSH?

/mcp auth opens a browser, so run it once on a machine with one. Copilot CLI then refreshes the sign-in on its own until it runs out.

Is the MCP connection billed on top of the plan?

No. It is included on every plan and in the 14-day free trial. Pro is €9.99 a month, flat. Posting to X is paid in X credits, as in the web app.

Are there limits?

Each connection can make up to 120 tool calls a minute. On Pro it gets 300 tool calls an hour, plus 30 session opens that make no call; on Ultra four times that, 1,200 calls and 120 opens.

Can I schedule posts to all 20 platforms from GitHub Copilot CLI?

Yes: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Google Business Profile, Discord, Slack, WordPress, Dev.to, Hashnode, Ghost, Pixelfed, Listmonk and X (posting to X is paid in X credits, from €4.99). The connection has up to 88 tools, and approval rules hold as in the web app.

14 days on your own accounts, then €9.99 a month

The assistant connection is included on every plan and in the trial.
