Schedchie in Gemini CLITerminal
Gemini CLI writes the posts. Schedchie publishes them.
Gemini CLI connects to Schedchie’s MCP server at mcp.schedchie.com/mcp and gets up to 88 tools for the accounts in your workspace. Schedchie is a flat-price social media scheduler for 20 platforms: Pro is €9.99 a month, with MCP included.
- npm install -g @google/gemini-cli puts Gemini CLI on the machine; gemini mcp add registers Schedchie.
- Sign in with /mcp auth schedchie. Gemini CLI registers itself, so there is no client ID to set.
- Use httpUrl, not url: in Gemini CLI, url is the SSE key.

Setting up Gemini CLI
gemini mcp add registers the server and /mcp auth schedchie opens the sign-in. Gemini CLI can then turn the changelog into posts for your connected accounts.
Requirements
- Who can use it
- Google’s README now aims Gemini CLI at Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise, a Gemini API key or Vertex AI. Free and Google AI Pro or Ultra accounts moved to Antigravity CLI on 18 June 2026.
Gemini CLICommand
Add the server
--transport http makes it a Streamable HTTP server. -s user writes ~/.gemini/settings.json for every project instead of .gemini/settings.json in this one.
gemini CLI (writes ~/.gemini/settings.json with -s user)gemini mcp add --transport http -s user schedchie https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp
Gemini CLIConfig
Or write it in settings.json
The key is httpUrl. Gemini CLI reads url as an SSE endpoint, the wrong transport for Schedchie.
Config{ "mcpServers": { "schedchie": { "httpUrl": "https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp" } } }
SchedchieSign-inSign in
Start gemini and run it. Gemini CLI finds the sign-in itself and opens the Schedchie screen in your browser, where you tick what it may use. It needs a browser on the same machine, so not over SSH without X11 forwarding or in a container.
Command/mcp auth schedchie
Gemini CLIPrompt
Check it, then call list_accounts
/mcp shows schedchie with its tools; gemini mcp list does the same from the shell. Then ask Gemini CLI for your connected Schedchie accounts.

Connection details
Same MCP server, permission groups and approvals as the Schedchie web app.
- Config
- ~/.gemini/settings.json for every project, .gemini/settings.json for one. gemini mcp add writes the project file unless you pass -s user.
- Transport
- httpUrl is the Streamable HTTP endpoint; url is SSE. Schedchie needs httpUrl.
- Sign-in
- /mcp auth schedchie. Gemini CLI discovers the sign-in on our 401, registers itself and waits on a local callback (http://localhost on a random port). Tokens are kept in ~/.gemini/mcp-oauth-tokens.json.
- Browser needed
- The sign-in opens a local browser. Google’s docs say it does not work over SSH without X11 forwarding, in headless setups or in containers without a browser.
- Only what you tick
- Connect Gemini CLI to Schedchie. Your assistant gets up to 88 tools across 20 platforms, and only the permission groups you tick at sign-in.
- Video from your phone
- Your assistant can hand you an upload link for a video up to 200 MB and 15 minutes, then set your own cover on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
- Approvals that hold
- On Ultra, a teammate's posts wait for your approval, and your assistant can list, approve or reject them from the chat. MCP is included in the €9.99 plan, with no per-account fees.
More about Schedchie in Gemini CLI
Why httpUrl and not url?
Gemini CLI reads url as an SSE endpoint and httpUrl as Streamable HTTP. Schedchie speaks Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp, so the entry needs httpUrl.
Do I need an oauth block in settings.json?
No. Leave it out and Gemini CLI discovers the sign-in itself when our server answers 401, then registers as a client. Run /mcp auth schedchie to sign in.
Can I sign in on a remote server over SSH?
Not with the browser flow: Google’s docs say it needs a local browser. Sign in on a machine with one, or use a client with a device or paste-back flow.
Is the MCP connection billed on top of the plan?
No. It is included on every plan and in the 14-day free trial. Pro is €9.99 a month, flat. Posting to X is paid in X credits, as in the web app.
Are there limits?
Each connection can make up to 120 tool calls a minute. On Pro it gets 300 tool calls an hour, plus 30 session opens that make no call; on Ultra four times that, 1,200 calls and 120 opens.
Can I schedule posts to all 20 platforms from Gemini CLI?
Yes: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Google Business Profile, Discord, Slack, WordPress, Dev.to, Hashnode, Ghost, Pixelfed, Listmonk and X (posting to X is paid in X credits, from €4.99). The connection has up to 88 tools, and approval rules hold as in the web app.
