Setting up Grok Build

grok mcp add registers the server; pressing i on it in the /mcps tab signs you in. Grok Build can then schedule the posts for what you just shipped.

Plans
Grok Build is in early beta for SuperGrok and X Premium Plus subscribers; without a browser it runs on an xAI API key (XAI_API_KEY).

    Add the server

    It writes ~/.grok/config.toml. Add --scope project to write .grok/config.toml in the current folder instead.

Connection details

Same MCP server, permission groups and approvals as the Schedchie web app.

Config
~/.grok/config.toml, or .grok/config.toml in the project (Grok walks up to the git root), under [mcp_servers.schedchie].
Sign-in
Servers that need OAuth start a browser flow on first use, or from /mcps with i. Tokens are kept in ~/.grok/mcp_credentials.json.
The /mcps tab
Space turns a server on or off, r reloads after a config edit, i signs in, a and x add and remove.
Other configs
Grok Build also loads ~/.claude.json, .cursor/mcp.json and .mcp.json for compatibility. An entry there for Schedchie works too; its own config.toml wins.
Logs
Per-server logs go to ~/.grok/logs/mcp/. grok inspect shows every loaded server and where it came from.
Only what you tick
Connect Grok Build to Schedchie. Your assistant gets up to 88 tools across 20 platforms, and only the permission groups you tick at sign-in.
Video from your phone
Your assistant can hand you an upload link for a video up to 200 MB and 15 minutes, then set your own cover on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
Approvals that hold
On Ultra, a teammate's posts wait for your approval, and your assistant can list, approve or reject them from the chat. MCP is included in the €9.99 plan, with no per-account fees.

What is the grok mcp add line for Schedchie?

grok mcp add --transport http schedchie https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp. Then open /mcps in Grok Build and press i on schedchie to sign in.

Do I set an Authorization header?

No. Leave headers out. The sign-in gives Grok Build its own token, kept in ~/.grok/mcp_credentials.json.

I already added Schedchie to Claude Code. Does Grok Build see it?

It can: Grok Build reads ~/.claude.json and .mcp.json at lower priority than its own config. It still needs its own sign-in.

Is the MCP connection billed on top of the plan?

No. It is included on every plan and in the 14-day free trial. Pro is €9.99 a month, flat. Posting to X is paid in X credits, as in the web app.

Are there limits?

Each connection can make up to 120 tool calls a minute. On Pro it gets 300 tool calls an hour, plus 30 session opens that make no call; on Ultra four times that, 1,200 calls and 120 opens.

Can I schedule posts to all 20 platforms from Grok Build?

Yes: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Google Business Profile, Discord, Slack, WordPress, Dev.to, Hashnode, Ghost, Pixelfed, Listmonk and X (posting to X is paid in X credits, from €4.99). The connection has up to 88 tools, and approval rules hold as in the web app.
