Schedchie in ZedEditor
The agent in Zed writes the posts. Schedchie publishes them.
Zed connects to Schedchie’s MCP server at mcp.schedchie.com/mcp and gets up to 88 tools for the accounts in your workspace. Schedchie is a flat-price social media scheduler for 20 platforms: Pro is €9.99 a month, with MCP included.
- A context_servers entry with our URL in Zed’s settings.json.
- Leave out the Authorization header: Zed then prompts you to sign in.
- Green indicator, tooltip Server is active: the tools are in the agent panel.

Setting up Zed
Add Schedchie under context_servers with no header, and Zed asks you to sign in. Then the agent panel can schedule posts while you code.

- MCP Servers
- Add Server
- Add Remote Server
Open Settings, then AI, then MCP Servers (or run agent: open settings and select MCP Servers). Click Add Server, then Add Remote Server.
ZedConfig
Enter the Schedchie server
Give it the Schedchie URL and no Authorization header. Zed saves the entry under context_servers in your settings file (zed: open settings file).
Zed settings.json (zed: open settings file){ "context_servers": { "schedchie": { "url": "https://mcp.schedchie.com/mcp" } } }

With no Authorization header, Zed prompts you to authenticate. Your browser opens the Schedchie screen: tick the groups the agent may use and sign in.
ZedPrompt
Check it, then call list_accounts
In MCP Servers the dot next to schedchie turns green and its tooltip says Server is active. Then ask the agent in the Agent Panel to list your Schedchie accounts.

Connection details
Same MCP server, permission groups and approvals as the Schedchie web app.
- Config
- context_servers in Zed’s settings.json. A remote server takes url, and optionally headers.
- Sign-in
- When a remote MCP server has no Authorization header configured, Zed prompts you to authenticate. That is the Schedchie sign-in.
- UI
- Settings, AI, MCP Servers, or agent: open settings. Add Server offers Add Local Server and Add Remote Server.
- Tool permissions
- agent.tool_permissions.default is confirm, so Zed asks before each tool call. Per tool: mcp:schedchie:<tool name>.
- Only what you tick
- Connect Zed to Schedchie. Your assistant gets up to 88 tools across 20 platforms, and only the permission groups you tick at sign-in.
- Video from your phone
- Your assistant can hand you an upload link for a video up to 200 MB and 15 minutes, then set your own cover on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
- Approvals that hold
- On Ultra, a teammate's posts wait for your approval, and your assistant can list, approve or reject them from the chat. MCP is included in the €9.99 plan, with no per-account fees.
More about Schedchie in Zed
Why must the entry have no headers?
Zed starts the sign-in only when a remote server has no Authorization header. Add one and Zed sends it as is, with no sign-in.
Can Zed post without asking me each time?
By default Zed confirms each tool call. You can allow single Schedchie tools with the mcp:schedchie:<tool name> keys under agent.tool_permissions; keep schedule_post on confirm.
Is the MCP connection billed on top of the plan?
No. It is included on every plan and in the 14-day free trial. Pro is €9.99 a month, flat. Posting to X is paid in X credits, as in the web app.
Are there limits?
Each connection can make up to 120 tool calls a minute. On Pro it gets 300 tool calls an hour, plus 30 session opens that make no call; on Ultra four times that, 1,200 calls and 120 opens.
Can I schedule posts to all 20 platforms from Zed?
Yes: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Google Business Profile, Discord, Slack, WordPress, Dev.to, Hashnode, Ghost, Pixelfed, Listmonk and X (posting to X is paid in X credits, from €4.99). The connection has up to 88 tools, and approval rules hold as in the web app.
