Schedchie vs Metricool (2026): Analytics Powerhouse or Flat-Rate Scheduler?

Cover card: Schedchie vs Metricool 2026 head-to-head comparison

Metricool is the stronger analytics product: it has a genuinely useful free plan, competitor tracking, and even ad-campaign reporting, and its Starter plan ($25/month, or $20 billed annually) covers 5 brands with unlimited publishing. Schedchie is the cheaper pure scheduler: €7.99/month flat for unlimited social accounts and unlimited scheduled posts. If reporting depth is what you pay a social tool for, Metricool earns its price. If publishing volume across many accounts is what you pay for, the math favors Schedchie. Both tools, unusually, charge extra for X (Twitter) — more on that below, because the two fee models suit different people.

Full disclosure: Schedchie is our product — so check the numbers yourself; every Metricool price and limit below comes from Metricool's official pricing page and help center as of July 2026. Where Metricool is better, we say so plainly.

What each tool actually is

Metricool started as an analytics tool and it shows. Beyond scheduling, it offers automated reports (PDF and PPT export), a Looker Studio connector on higher tiers, competitor tracking (5 profiles on Free, 100 on Starter), a hashtag tracker, and a unified ads dashboard for Google, Facebook (Meta), and TikTok Ads. It connects Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, X, Twitch, and Google Business Profile. Metricool says over 3.5 million professionals use it. It is a legitimate all-in-one for people whose job includes proving results to a client or a boss.

Schedchie is a scheduler. It does one job — plan and publish across Instagram (feed, stories, reels, carousels), TikTok, Facebook (pages and groups), LinkedIn (profiles and company pages), Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, and Bluesky — with a unified calendar, visual planner, first-comment scheduling for Instagram, optimal posting-time suggestions, and an AI assistant for captions and hashtags. Analytics are essential-level, not Metricool-level. In exchange, one flat €7.99/month buys unlimited accounts and unlimited posts, with no per-brand counting.

What a Metricool "brand" actually bundles

This is the part most comparisons skip. A brand in Metricool is a workspace for one client or project, and per Metricool's help center it can hold one profile per platform: one Facebook Page, one Instagram account, one Threads account, one X account, one Bluesky account, one LinkedIn page or profile, one Pinterest account, one TikTok account, one YouTube channel, one Twitch channel, one Google Business Profile location, one website — plus a Meta Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok Ads account.

That is generous if you run one identity everywhere: a single brand can legitimately bundle 10+ connections. It is restrictive if you run multiple accounts on the same platform — two Instagram accounts always means two brands, so the 5-brand Starter cap arrives faster than the raw number suggests. Schedchie has no brand concept: every account is just an account, and there is no cap.

Two more free-plan details worth knowing before you commit: Metricool's Free plan cannot connect LinkedIn at all, and X is unavailable on Free even as a paid add-on — you need Starter or higher first.

The X (Twitter) fee both of us charge

Here is something you will rarely read in a comparison post: both tools in this article charge extra for X, and neither is hiding a margin grab — X now bills API access per connection, and schedulers either eat that cost, raise everyone's price, or pass it on to the people who actually use X. Metricool and Schedchie both chose to pass it on. The models differ, and the difference decides who pays more:

  • Metricool: +$5 (or €5) per connected X account per month, on any paid plan ($60/year per account on annual billing). Unlimited posting on that account once connected.
  • Schedchie: +€4.99 per 30 X posts, valid for 30 days. It is metered by posts, not by accounts.

Run the honest math for three typical users:

  • One X account, roughly a post a day (30/month): €4.99 on Schedchie vs $5 on Metricool. Effectively a tie.
  • One X account, heavy posting (say 90/month): about €14.97 on Schedchie (three add-on packs) vs still $5 on Metricool. Metricool is clearly cheaper here — if you are a high-volume X poster, that is a genuine point for Metricool.
  • Three X accounts, light posting (10 posts each, 30 total): €4.99 on Schedchie (the pack covers posts, not accounts) vs $15 on Metricool ($5 × 3 accounts). Schedchie is cheaper for multi-account, low-volume X use.

In short: Metricool's X fee scales with accounts, Schedchie's scales with volume. Pick the model that matches how you actually use X — and if you barely use X, both fees are avoidable by simply not adding it.

To be clear about the biggest row: Metricool's analytics are simply better than ours. Unlimited data history, exportable client reports, competitor benchmarks, and ad-campaign reporting in one place is a real product advantage, and no €7.99 scheduler should pretend to match it.

Choose Metricool if…

  • You report to clients or a boss and need presentation-ready PDF/PPT reports or a Looker Studio pipeline.
  • Competitor benchmarking matters — tracking 100 competitor profiles on a $25 plan is strong value.
  • You run Google, Meta, or TikTok ad campaigns and want organic + paid reporting in one dashboard.
  • You post heavily on X from one account — Metricool's flat $5/account beats Schedchie's per-30-posts metering at high volume.
  • You need Twitch or Google Business Profile publishing.
  • You want a real free plan and can live inside 1 brand, 20 posts a month, and no LinkedIn. (Metricool is one of only 8 of 25 schedulers we checked that still offer a real free plan in July 2026.)

Choose Schedchie if…

  • You mainly need publishing, and lots of it: €7.99 flat with unlimited accounts and unlimited posts vs $25 for 5 brands is not a close call on price per account.
  • You manage multiple accounts on the same platform — Metricool forces one brand per same-platform account; Schedchie just doesn't count.
  • You run several low-volume X accounts: one €4.99 post pack can cover all of them, vs $5 per account on Metricool.
  • Essential analytics (what performed, when to post) are enough, and you'd rather keep the ~$17/month difference.
  • You want every platform included at one price with no tiers to compare — everything except the X add-on is in the €7.99.

If you searched for "alternativa a Metricool": Schedchie works in English today, but the price logic translates — tarifa plana de 7,99 €/mes, cuentas y publicaciones ilimitadas.

Where Schedchie honestly falls short

Three things Metricool users will miss if they switch to us. First, analytics: ours are essential-level — post performance and best posting times, not unlimited-history dashboards, competitor benchmarks, or ads reporting. Second, team features: we have no approval workflows or per-user roles yet (they're on the roadmap; a shared login works for small teams, and there are no per-seat fees to worry about in the meantime). Third, there is no free plan — we offer a 14-day trial instead, while Metricool's free tier, capped as it is, can serve a very light user indefinitely. And as covered above, heavy single-account X posters pay more with our metered add-on than with Metricool's flat fee. We keep a running list of what we ship weekly on our changelog and the known limitations on our reviews page.

FAQ: Metricool pricing and alternatives

Is Metricool free?

Metricool has a real free plan: 1 brand, 20 posts per month, 30 days of analytics history, and competitor tracking for 5 profiles. It excludes LinkedIn entirely, and X (Twitter) cannot be added on the free tier. It's one of only 8 schedulers out of 25 we checked that still offer a genuine free plan in 2026 — see our free-plan census.

How much does Metricool cost in 2026?

As of July 2026, Metricool Starter costs $25/month, or $20/month billed annually, and includes 5 brands with unlimited publishing (fair-use policy applies) and unlimited analytics history. Advanced tiers with team management, approval workflows, and Looker Studio start higher and scale by brand count. X accounts always cost an extra $5/account/month.

Does Metricool charge extra for Twitter/X?

Yes. Connecting an X account costs +$5 (€5) per account per month on any paid plan ($60/year per account on annual billing), and X is not available on the free plan at all. This reflects X's paid API. Schedchie also passes X's API cost on, but meters it differently: €4.99 per 30 posts, valid 30 days, shared across accounts.

What is a Metricool brand?

A brand is one client or project workspace. It can hold one profile per platform — one Facebook Page, one Instagram, one TikTok, one LinkedIn, one YouTube, and so on, plus Meta/Google/TikTok Ads accounts and a website. Two accounts on the same platform always require two brands, which is how the Starter plan's 5-brand cap gets used up quickly.

What is the cheapest Metricool alternative?

For pure scheduling, Schedchie at €7.99/month flat with unlimited accounts and unlimited posts is the cheapest option we know of that removes both account and post limits — across the 25 tools in our pricing index, only two flat unlimited plans exist (Schedchie €7.99 and Radaar Standard $9.99), and Schedchie is the cheaper. If you need Metricool-grade analytics, though, a cheap scheduler is not a substitute — compare feature-for-feature on our alternatives page.

Is Metricool worth $25 a month?

If you use the analytics, yes. Unlimited data history, PDF/PPT client reports, 100 tracked competitors, and a Google/Meta/TikTok ads dashboard are things most sub-$10 schedulers (ours included) simply don't have. If you would only use the scheduler, you are paying for reporting you'll never open — that's the case where a flat-rate tool makes more sense.

The honest bottom line

Metricool is the better analytics product and it isn't close; we verified its free plan, brand system, and pricing on its official pages in July 2026 rather than guessing. Schedchie is the better deal for volume publishing: €7.99/month, unlimited accounts, unlimited posts, every platform included except the metered X add-on. If that's your shape of work, you can test everything in a 14-day free trial — no card tricks, and €7.99/month after if it fits. Full pricing details are on our pricing page.
