A chain of glass and ceramic objects linked by one glowing wire — AI assistants connected to a scheduler

Forty-one social media tools ship an MCP server for ChatGPT and Claude in 2026; eleven are compared below. The cheapest unlimited one underneath is Schedchie, €7.99 a month flat. Start the free trial.

Updated September 6, 2026: every row was re-read on the vendor's own MCP and pricing pages on September 6, 2026. Planable is new since the August census and a second table lists thirty more vendors verified today; Typefully moved to OAuth; Metricool's server now publishes directly and runs on its free plan; Hootsuite added a fourth connector.

An MCP server lets an AI assistant — ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Gemini — operate a social media scheduler directly: you ask in plain language, it schedules real posts on your real accounts. The MCP itself is free in every row below. What differs is the sign-in method, the platforms the product underneath reaches, what lands where (drafts, a review calendar, or a live schedule), and the meter under the badge: per channel, per seat, per workspace, per brand, or nothing at all.

The census: eleven social media management tools with an MCP server, compared field by field

Every row read off each vendor's own MCP page and pricing page on September 6, 2026 (first census July 26, 2026; Buffer and Hootsuite added August 8, 2026); each tool name links to its source. Currency exactly as each vendor displays it. Thirty more vendors with a first-party server are listed further down. The full 25-vendor price census, updated monthly, lives in our social media scheduler pricing index.

How to read that table

Auth is about friction. OAuth means you click sign-in and approve; an API key means you find it in settings and paste it into a config. Nine of the eleven rows now sign in without pasting a key, so OAuth is table stakes rather than a differentiator — Schedchie, Buffer, Hootsuite, Planable, Metricool, Outstand, Aidelly, Socialync and Typefully all offer it; Postiz and ZocialOne still take a key.

Where the post lands matters more than the tool count. Three patterns exist. Planable's server writes drafts only, which then pass its approval flow before anyone schedules them. Buffer's lands drafts or scheduled posts in its queue. Schedchie, Metricool, Postiz and the rest schedule or publish directly, with the optional human step being a real approval workflow: Schedchie's post approvals and client review links sit on the Team plan and apply to MCP-created posts like any other.

Platform reach decides more than tool count. The video platforms — TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest — are reached by Schedchie, Buffer, Metricool, Outstand, Socialync and Aidelly. Telegram and Mastodon are reached by Schedchie and Postiz; Mastodon also by Buffer and Aidelly. Text-first servers such as Typefully stop at X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon because the product underneath has no video platform integration. Schedchie's Telegram channel publishing and Mastodon posting are included in the flat price.

Look at the meter underneath. The MCP is free everywhere; the product under it is not. Socialync caps MCP posting at 10 a day. Outstand meters past 3,000 posts a month. Metricool's Starter covers 5 brands. Planable prices per workspace, Buffer per channel, Hootsuite per seat. Schedchie's €7.99 has no account meter and no post meter — the flat price is the actual differentiator, not the MCP badge. Of the 25 tools in the pricing index it is the only plan that leaves both accounts and posts uncapped: Radaar Standard caps profiles at 6, Pallyy Pro at 11.

Safety is scoping plus a human step. Every server here is scoped to the accounts you connected and cannot touch billing or credentials. Planable's drafts-only rule, Buffer's queue and Schedchie's or Aidelly's approval workflows are the three ways vendors keep a person between the assistant and the live post.

Thirty more social media tools with a first-party MCP server in 2026

The eleven rows above are the servers compared field by field. The following tools also publish their own MCP server — each name links to the vendor's own MCP page, read on September 6, 2026 — with the sign-in method and any plan gate the page states. Prices for most of them sit in the pricing index.

Publer, Loomly and Radaar have community-built or aggregator-listed servers only, with no vendor page; Later, SocialBee and Sendible publish none. Sociality.io publishes a read-only analytics server with no scheduling and is left out.

Planable vs Buffer vs Hootsuite MCP: three servers, three meters

These three are the most-compared MCP servers among small teams, because the products underneath are the ones small teams already know. The servers differ less than the bills do.

Planable, Buffer, Hootsuite and Schedchie MCP servers compared on sign-in, what a post lands as, plan gating, and the monthly product price at 5 and 10 connected accounts, verified September 6, 2026
MCP serverSign-inA post created by the assistant lands asPlan gatingProduct at 5 accountsProduct at 10 accounts

SchedchieOAuth 2.1Scheduled post; approvals optional on the Team planEvery plan€7.99/mo€7.99/mo

Prices verified on September 6, 2026 on planable.io/pricing, buffer.com/pricing, hootsuite.com/plans and schedchie.com/pricing. Planable's rows assume one page per connected account and the 4-pages-per-workspace Basic limit; Hootsuite's Standard rate is the annual-billing display, its monthly rate is not published. The Buffer vs Hootsuite comparison runs the seat and channel maths in full.

For a team of three that wants sign-off before posts go live, Planable's drafts-only MCP is the safest default and its per-workspace price stays flat as the team grows. The bill grows per brand instead. Buffer's bill grows per channel, at $6 a month each. Hootsuite's grows per seat, and approvals only arrive on Advanced at $399 per user. Schedchie's €24.99 Team plan covers approvals, three invited members and unlimited accounts, and the €7.99 plan covers a solo operator with any number of accounts. The Buffer comparison and the Hootsuite comparison go feature by feature.

What Schedchie's MCP does

It schedules and edits posts with media — including uploading video and setting custom covers — manages the queue, reads analytics, and runs team approvals and client review links, on any plan. It signs in from ChatGPT, Claude (web, Desktop, Code), Cursor or any MCP client with OAuth 2.1; no key to paste. AI stays opt-in: the assistant you already pay for does the writing and keyword work in the same conversation, Schedchie takes the finished post and publishes it on schedule to ten platforms, and the dashboard stays clean. The wiring details — connector URL, per-client setup — are on the Schedchie AI page. Moving an existing queue in is a file upload: CSV import with a fix-me file for any row that needs attention.

FAQ: social media MCP servers in 2026

Which social media scheduler has an MCP server for ChatGPT and Claude?

As of September 6, 2026, the social media management tools with an MCP server compared above are Schedchie, Buffer, Hootsuite, Planable, Postiz, Metricool, Outstand, Aidelly, Socialync, ZocialOne and Typefully; thirty more — from SocialPilot, Vista Social, Zoho Social, Agorapulse and Sprout Social to Zernio, Blotato and Social Champ — publish one too, listed in the second table, for forty-one in total. Schedchie's server connects from ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor with an OAuth sign-in and runs on the €7.99 plan.

Planable vs Buffer vs Hootsuite MCP: which is the better fit for a small team?

All three sign in without an API key and all three include the MCP on every plan. Planable's server writes drafts that pass its approval flow; Buffer's lands drafts or scheduled posts in the queue; Hootsuite's Perch connector schedules directly. The difference is the meter: Planable bills $33 per workspace on annual billing, Buffer $6 per channel a month, Hootsuite $99 per user a month billed annually. A small team running 10 accounts pays $99 a month at Planable across three Basic workspaces, $60 at Buffer, $99 per seat at Hootsuite, and €7.99 at Schedchie — or €24.99 with approvals and three invited members on the Team plan.

Which MCP servers sign in with OAuth instead of an API key?

Schedchie, Hootsuite, Planable, Metricool, Aidelly and Typefully sign in with OAuth; Buffer, Outstand and Socialync accept either OAuth or a key. Postiz and ZocialOne use an API key.

Can ChatGPT or Claude post to TikTok and YouTube through MCP?

Yes, through a server whose product reaches those platforms: Schedchie, Buffer, Metricool, Outstand, Socialync or Aidelly. Text-first servers such as Typefully cannot, because the product underneath has no TikTok or YouTube integration. Schedchie publishes YouTube videos and Shorts with thumbnails, and TikTok with its per-post settings, from the same MCP tools — see which schedulers handle YouTube in 2026.

Does using an MCP cost extra?

In every row above the MCP itself is included; you pay for the scheduler under it, and on Typefully the ChatGPT and Claude connectors also need a paid assistant plan on the client side. The cheapest unlimited product in the table is Schedchie at €7.99 a month with unlimited accounts and posts; the cheapest-scheduler guide ranks the rest by what you pay at 5 and 10 accounts.

Try it: connect ChatGPT or Claude to Schedchie over MCP in two minutes, then schedule to ten platforms for €7.99 a month flat. Start the free trial, or check exactly what the flat price includes.
